If I send my laptop in for repair, will I need to remove my User password on the laptop?

Or would I have to reveal the password to them?
The thing is that my laptop willl barely start (hence why I want to repair it) which is why I cannot simply remove my User password.
Will I have to reveal it to the repair shop? Or will they be able to access my computer [...]
