Should I Repair My Laptop Hard Drive or Buy a New One?

I have a 5 year old Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop that needs a new hard drive. I’m not sure how much this would cost with hardware and labor charges. And I know that I could buy a new one for around $600 – $700. Knowing this, and considering that my old one is 5-yr old, what should I do? Repair or replace?

if you have the money then, go right ahead and buy a new computer, you can find another dell that will last you another five years… that computer is five years old and if it is your primary computer than i’d say go ahead and buy a new one.

if you do decide to buy a new hard drive, then it would probably cost you about $100 for the harddrive depending on how much space you want and then another $50-100 for the labor..,.. you can even replace it yourself it isn’t too hard. there are screws on the bottom of the laptop and a picture that indicates where the hard drive is, all you got to do is just take that cover off and unscrew the old harddrive and put the new one in place and it should work, reinstall windows after that and your good to go.

but if i were you, i would go buy a new computer.
