Earlier today I think I may have stepped on my laptop so now there is a crack going down the right side from the top (around 3.5-4.5 inches of straight crack and another 3 of little droplet looking things). It’s black all around the crack, which I know isn’t unusual for a screen crack but if there is some way to repair it without calling someone in to do it I’d like to know.

Hey Dude,
Bad news. You don’t. You have to buy a new or used one.
What brand is it. I have a bunch of older dells I can give you, it must be much older.
Plan to spend from $200-$500 for an LCD, and then, if not under warranty, another $100 for labor if you can’t do it yourself.
Sorry man.
Tom
Listen to Carolyn, get a regular monitor and hook it up. It probably is still a good laptop that is going to cost an arm and a leg to fix. You can still use it with an external monitor.
Tom
No, if the screen is cracked, it’s irrepairable.
You can however, replace the LCD screen. Look online on ebay…and expect to pay $100 plus for a screen.

Regards,

Take it to Comp Usa or Best Buy. You will have to buy a new screen, once it gets cracked it can’t be repaired it can only be replaced.
Cafetom’s right. Sorry, but it’s toast. I know that an IBM ThinkPad in the T4x series LCD replacement will cost approx. $800. For a short-term solution you can hook it up to a monitor so that you can work on the computer. Of course your laptop isn’t really portable that way but at least you can access your data. And no you can’t replace the LCD yourself either….
it can not be repaired since laptops use LCD technology(liquid crystal display) witch explains the three little droplets.Although you can go to a computer store and replace the whole screen.it might coast you 100 up to 300USD.
Sorry, the screen is hosed. The link below shows you how to replace the screen yourself whether you buy a new one or used on Ebay.
